‘Solstice and Dark Times with a Dash of Good News.’

Revelstoke social service organization Community Connections is trying to raise $150,000 this December for their food program as the demographics of their client base has changed over the years to include more families and people working full time jobs.

Last week, Selkirk Innovates published their yearly State of the Basin report. The report looks at the economic, environmental, cultural, and social well-being of the Columbia Basin-Boundary Region Tom Thomson, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce in Nelson spoke to Kootenay Co Op Radio about the median wage decrease, the threat of the retiring labour force and people moving away from the basin for jobs elsewhere. 

CFUR in Prince George and the Nechako Aboriginal Employment Training Association have recruited six indigenous youth into a 25 week hands on radio broadcast training program at CFUR. 

Smithers Citizens on patrol are coming back in action.

The Cortez Island Community Foundation and the Cortez Housing Society are hosting a Solstice Coffee House on Friday, December 22nd.
