Leah Ferguson (and the MASRC) is giving away bikes to indigenous students in Winnipeg. Coolio!
The Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council is focused on advancing and promoting sport and recreation activities to improve the quality of life for all First Nations, Inuit and Métis people. Their mission is to strengthen Aboriginal participation in positive healthy lifestyle activities. I discovered them recently through a new initiative in Winnipeg, where they’re pairing restored bicycles and indigenous students who are new to the city. Leah Ferguson is the the leadership and training manager at MASRC, and she spoke with us today about this project.
