Program:

One of Canada’s most influential liturgical musicians, Matthew Larkin has held appointments in Toronto, Ottawa, and Victoria. Active as a choral director and conductor, he founded the Caelis Academy Ensemble. His recital work has taken him worldwide, and his collaborative projects have produced commercially successful recordings on several labels. Matthew is well-known as a composer and arranger, and he’s massively talented as an organist. Matthew currently serves as Custodian for Music at St. Andrew’s Church in Ottawa.

And while his profession demands that he put people into a reflective mood in preparation for entering the presence of God, Matthew also excels at encouraging that reflective mood in everyday conversation. Today, we discuss one such conversation he started online recently, with the goal of having us consider ways to be more inclusive in our church communities.

The image included here is Matthew at the keyboard of his home church, St. Andrew's in Ottawa, Ontario.
