Food trucks and trailers are mobile restaurants, gaining popularity with vendors and diners alike. They’re less expensive to operate and are a convenient and fun dining experience. Our own Smithers District Chamber of Commerce has opened a farm-to-fork food trailer that celebrates community entrepreneurship and chamber member growers, farmers and food producers. And the biggest surprise of all? It’s non-profit!
We’ll hear from the Chamber’s food trailer manager Savannah Parsons, whom I spoke with briefly during the soft opening in mid-July. Then, some background on the food trailer business with Chamber Executive Director Sheena Miller, with a few more comments from Savannah.
