Last week Enbridge abruptly pulled their application to extend a permit for their West Coast Connector Gas Transmission pipeline. Citing no specific reason for the change of course, it seems market pressure, the unlikelihood the permit extension would be grated, and no destination or facility for the pipeline project caused the company to rethink their plans.

To gain more clarity on this new development we spoke with MP for Skeena - Bulkley Valley, Taylor Bachrach about his perspective on these types of pipeline projects in the region. As well, we’ll hear from West Coast Environmental Law staff council, Gavin Smith, who has been following this project for many years.
