Delgamuukw.
On December 11, the Laksilyu clan held a feast to honour the last remaining elder to attend the supreme court hearings, Delgamuukw vs British Columbia. This episode includes sound files from that event, with speeches from Chief Henry Alfred, his daughter Margery Almont, Wah Tah Ghet, also known as Marvin George and the mayor of Smithers, the Honourable Taylor Bachrach.
Chief Henry Alfred will end the episode with a simple but very heartfelt explanation of how the Wit'suwit'en tradition works. HIs passion for the land and for honouring these traditions is undeniable, and a marvellous inspiration.
