The leader of the official Opposition was in northwest B.C. this week. Pierre Poilievre was in Terrace and Prince Rupert meeting with voters, on what looked like a campaign trail already, the second visit he's made to the riding of Skeena-Bulkley Valley in six months.
During his stay, Poilievre announced that current MLA for Skeena, Ellis Ross, will run for the federal Conservatives in the next election, challenging current Member of Parliament, the NDP's Taylor Bachrach.
The Tories have failed to win Skeena-Bulkley Valley from the NDP for more than 20 years, however the Conservatives have seen an increase of more than 11 percent in their support over the past ten years, while the NDP has seen a decline in support by more than eight percent.
