Program:

As the B.C. legislature resumes the spring sitting in Victoria, we check in with Forest Minister, Ravi Parmar. He recently toured B.C.’s northwest, meeting with ministry workers and local municipalities, industry partners and locals affected by recently mill closures.

Forestry is the backbone of B.C.’s economy but it is currently in a state of disarray with at least four permanent mill closures in B.C. in 2024 with several more curtailments. Can B.C.’s new forestry minister turn the ship around and reinvigorate the forestry economy? We’ll discuss that and more coming up.

But first, a report from  Pam Haasen about the upcoming nominations for the Smithers Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
