Program:

After more than a year, the Gitxaala Nation launched their much anticipated legal challenge of B.C.’s mineral tenures act in B.C. Supreme Court, which they say has impacted their territory and salmon populations which their people rely on. This case has huge potential to change the way minerals are claimed in B.C. and the future of mining as we know it. It could also chart a path forward when it comes to Indigenous land claims and reconciliation in this province.

Also on the program, Chief Na’Moks who is in Saskatoon to attend the Royal Bank of Canada’s AGM, the primary bank financing the Coast Gas link Pipeline project, and to send a message to share holders of that bank that continued construction of that pipeline, amounts to the continued infringement of the Indigenous rights.
