With only 6 months left before the next provincial election parties, candidates and advocacy groups are gearing up for what could be one of the hottest political contests this province has seen in years.

This weekend the BC Wildlife Federation made a stop in Smithers to meet with voters and discuss BCWF priorities for the upcoming election and what changes they would like to see around habitat protection and better management of wildlife populations and ensure hunting and fishing rights are protected as well.

David Lewis, president of the BC Wildlife Federation and Steve Hamilton  spoke with a small group of voters at the Bulkley Valley Rod and Gun Club, I caught up with them after the event.
