Jennifer Rice is the current NDP MLA for the riding of North Coast, but after 11 years in the legislature she’s stepping back from politics to focus on her young family.

Rice has held a few different portfolios over the years, most recently as the Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Health.

Although the decision to step back was bittersweet, Rice outlined some of her accomplishments since she was originally elected in 2013, most recently the passing of the “Rising Tide” Haida Title Lands Agreement.

I had an exclusive sit-down with MLA Jen Rice to talk about her time in Victoria, decorum in the legislature, and what comes next for her.
