On September 15th Premier David Eby announced his government will build special facilities for those detained under the mental health act, often called “involuntary care”. As public safety concerns continue to grow amid the worst metal health and overdose crisis recoded in the province’s history, the NDP are looking to reassure voters that their communities are safe.

However not everyone is convinced this approach will work.
