Earlier this year we brought you a story about the provincial government's cancellation of dozens of conservation lands across the province and in northwest B.C.
One particular area in the Bulkley Valley known as Tyee Mountain, a popular hiking trail network and one of the last mature and old growth stands in the Valley, was removed from the Land Act and several cut blocks have been laid out.
A former habitat protections biologist with the provincial Ministry of Environment, Len Vanderstar, and his colleagues called-out the government and the minister for allowing these cancelations to happen without consultation, and called for their reinstatement.
Today we speak with Len Vanderstar about where the issue is now, when logging may occur this season and how some may try to stop the logging.
