Kicking Out the Jams, with Nadine Cunningham of the Bulkley Valley Bruisers
When I was a kid, I stumbled on a sport that was relatively popular: roller skating. You got yourself a sweet pair of skates with four rollers on them and you visited the local arena and skated circuits with friends. Fast forward 50 years, and everyone is on roller blades—a sleeker, sexier series of inline rollers—that are much more likely to take you blading in a public park than an arena.
And yet, roller skates are makin a comeback in the emerging sport of roller derby. And Deen Machine, aka Nadine Cunningham of the Bulkley Valley Bruisers is here to bust up the Cookie Jar.
