Eli Larsen | How will you make your community safer today? |
I’m a geek. One of my favourite things to do is pore over a map. Maps with added site-specific and current data are even better. When I discovered an app called BikeMaps.org, I was in heaven.
Right now, my Smithers community is reassessing its Official Community Plan and is collecting input through presentations, community walks and a tool called StoryMaps. It’s very similar to what Karen Laberee and I will be discussing today. The BikeMaps app displays bike incident data from around the world, with layers of Strava data, as well as data from alternative modes of transportation, like pedestrians and those with mobility issues. It's very comprehensive. I’d see this a coincidental timing if the topic weren’t another one requested by a listener. coolio!
