Symbiotic Businesses in Smithers, with Dave Harris (Bulkley Valley Brewery) and Shannon West (Steller Jay Coffee Cart)
I love my downtown. Lots of friendly shopkeepers with items I need and want, where I feel my presence is noticed and appreciated. It feels like a co-operative venture. In our competitive, capitalist world, you don’t see that very often, and it’s in my best interest to support these businesses. Two such businesses have taken the notion of co-operative to a whole new level. The Bulkley Valley Brewery has invited Steller Jay Coffee Cart to open up under its roof—the one offers coffee during the early hours, while the other provides a variety of locally brewed beers later in the day. Coffee and beer: two things I like!
