The Beer that Builds Community, with Blaine Estby of the Smithers Brewing Company
The Smithers Brewing Company describes itself as “a little timber-framed brewery in a kick-ass town in northern BC making the best beer they possibly can.” They offer 10 taps, of which 4 are mainstay beers and 4 are ever-rotating seasonal options, along with a cider and an in-house brewed kombucha.
I don’t drink a lot of beer, but I’ve been invited to three events in support of my beloved non-profit organizations this fall, all hosted at the Smithers Brewing Company. Since opening in June of 2018, they’ve supported and donated to more than 20 local charities throughout Smithers and the Bulkley Valley. And while we will talk about beer, the focus is community building, as always. Who knew we’d have beer in the Cookie Jar?
