The Coldsnap Festival nestles into new venue, forges new partnerships. As the temperature plunges, Katherine Benny, Communications and Operations Manager of the Coldsnap Festival in prince george, confirms the chatter that the annual ColdSnap Festival will return this February. And this year, most of the events will be hosted in a brand new venue. That story coming up with Ian Gregg at CFUR in Prince George

And The Whaletown Community Club (WCC) has begun new public programming every Saturday at the Gorge Hall. The weekly events will rotate Karaoke and Open mic Jams by donation. For more on this story we’ll check-in with Loni Taylor with CKTZ on Cortes Island.

Nelson residents gathered to support the Drug User Liberation Front at a rally held outside city hall in Nelson on Tuesday to support Drug User Liberation Front (DULF) co-founders Eris Nix and Jeremy Kalicum’s court appearance following their arrest in Vancouver. Scott Onyschak at CJLY in Kootenay will tell us more.

And in Terrace we’ll hear from Sabrina Spencer - CFNR about her interview with the Mayor of the District of Kitimat Phil Gurmuth, as he reflects on 2023 and the successes and challenges that the district experienced. Gurmuth also talks about the challenges with Northern Health and the hospital emergency closures these past six months.

Finally, on New Years Eve, a teenage party along the 4500 block of Henry Road ended with horrific burns to some of the people attending. In the wake of trauma caused by this event, which has rocked the community Pamela Hassen from CICK News in Smithers talks to Amy Stokes and Mark Dehoog of the Northern Society for Domestic Peace, which is part of the Bulkley Valley Critical Incident Response Team. They spoke about the role of the team and the support that it provides to people in psychological or emotional distress following a critical incident.
