With the inaugural journey of the new BC Transit bus between Smithers and Moricetown this week, this episode of In These Mountains is dedicated to the memory of Ramona Wilson, whose mother Matty Wilson worked tirelessly to keep in the forefront her desire to have Ramona’s murder solved, and to have a safe travel option along the highway of tears.
To begin, I’ll share sound files from the opening ceremony at the Roi Theatre bus stop in Smithers on Friday, January 27. To end this episode, we'll hear comments from some of the thirteen travellers who embarked on the transit system’s very first return trip between Smithers and Moricetown, on Monday January 30.
