Our guests today are Sakej Ward, from the Mi'kmaq nation, and his wife Melody Andrews.
This couple is reknowned and respected in activist circles across the country; they were invited to Witsuwit’en territory to teach a course on empowerment and self-defense to our women and youths.
This is the first of a two-part series on oppression and why women need self-defense courses in the first place. Sakej will draw many similarities between that and what's happening in society generally.
