The second of a two-part series with guests Sakej Ward and his wife, Melody Andrews. This couple is well-known and respected in activist circles across the country; they were invited to Witsuwit’en territory to teach a course in empowerment and self-defense to our women and youths.
We’re going to begin today’s conversation with a discussion of the Moosehide campaign and why it matters. The Moosehide Campaign is described on their website as "men taking a stand against violence towards aboriginal women and children."
Sakej and Melody then take the conversation to a discussion of indigenous sovereignty in social justice situations.
