Last week, the Kyah Wiget Education Society held its main graduation feast, where the educational successes of thirty-one students were publicly celebrated.
After the feast, I took Evan and Marilyn Morrison—two of our graduates—aside and asked them about the whole education experience, and what happens next. Then, I spoke with Lacey Naziel, who went back to school to upgrade her skills as a Housing Manager. I wanted to know whether our members see going back to school as making a difference here.
After the break, we’re going to get a little immersion into our brand new canyon tours, a great service to our community, to anyone curious about the Witsuwit’en, and of course, to our tourist visitors.
